About the Artisan
Hello! My name is Janet Peters and this journey began in 2021 when I was furloughed from my corporate job as a Supervisor. What I didn't know is that would change my life in the best way! I decided to dabble with Epoxy and redo some furnishings at my home. What started as redoing furniture turned into custom work for customers. It started with me and my son Dan opening a 200 sq ft shop! Dan has since found something he is more passionate about! I on the other hand, have become passionate about pouring epoxy resin!
When I decided to move to a larger space, I decided to invite local artisans to join. And that is how we began.
I always had a love of the arts, but never imagined I would do this well into my 50's. My background was Commercial Art for 3 years and then Butera School of Art in Boston, starting in1988! After that I never looked back, I had so many careers and I was good at all of them. But it was a paycheck, not a passion. I did everything from drive an ice cream truck, hairdresser, Manager of Dominos Pizza, Partner at a real estate office, and those are just the highlights!
A small fun fact, I have my 1st Degree Blackbelt in Taekwondo! But those are all the past! Today I am the sole proprietor of Epoxy Maine & Artisans. AND I own Seashell Cottages and Events here in Old Orchard Beach with my wife Kari. We specialize in summer vacation stays, and events, lots of weddings!! Two very demanding businesses!
